Scooter Braun expresses his desire for Taylor Swift to have the “best” following her purchase of the master recordings for her first six albums.

During the August 13 episode of the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, the 35-year-old Swift emotionally discussed her accomplishment. In May, the pop sensation revealed that she had regained ownership of her entire music catalog. She had felt crushed when her previous label, Big Machine, sold her masters to Braun, aged 44, in 2019. Subsequently, he sold the rights to Shamrock Capital for $300 million.

On Monday, August 18, TMZ encountered Braun in Los Angeles and inquired about his thoughts on Swift’s recounting of the situation on “New Heights.”

The former music manager simply replied, “I wish everybody the best.”

Braun appeared disinterested in reigniting the notorious feud with Swift, who experienced a sense of betrayal when she learned six years ago that he had acquired the rights to her self-titled debut album, as well as Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation.

Swift publicly criticized the agreement that she had not been made aware of.

"All I could think about was the relentless, manipulative bullying I’ve endured from him for years,” she stated at that time. “Now Scooter has taken away my life’s work, which I wasn’t given a chance to purchase. Essentially, my musical legacy is now in the hands of someone who sought to undermine it. This is my worst-case scenario."

Swift later disclosed her intentions to re-record her earlier works in order to reclaim ownership. As a result, she successfully created new versions of four out of the six albums.

Months after her successful Eras Tour concluded in December 2024, Swift secured an impressive agreement with Shamrock, reportedly matching the sum that the venture capital firm paid in 2020.

Travis, aged 35, rejoiced alongside his girlfriend of nearly two years.

“I knock on the door, he’s engaged in video games, and I’m attempting to deliver the news casually... he puts down his headset... and I think he assumed something was wrong,” Swift recounted during her appearance on “New Heights.” “I approached him and told him, ‘I got all my music back’ and I just completely broke down in tears.”

Swift shared that she “collapsed, unable to support myself with my legs. This has transformed my life. I still can hardly believe it.”

Travis, in supporting Swift, also became emotional.

“I started crying... I was overwhelmed to realize that you had devoted your entire life to this and for your six albums, you hadn’t been granted the rights to all of that. I know how much that hurt you,” Travis admitted.
