Zoë Kravitz and her mother Lisa Bonet “totally wrecked” Taylor Swift’s bathroom after nearly misplacing a pet snake in the singer’s residence.

During the episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday, August 12, Kravitz, 36, shared how Swift, 35, generously allowed her and her mother to stay at her home in Los Angeles following their evacuation due to the California wildfires earlier this January.

However, Bonet, 57, decided to bring along an surprising companion: her snake called Orpheus.

On the last day of their visit, the Caught Stealing actress recounted, “I was getting my things together and telling my mom, ‘I want to be a considerate guest. I prefer to leave places in better condition than I arrived. I want her to have no clue we were here.’”

“I was tidying up when my phone rang. My mom was upstairs, and I thought it was odd to get a call since we were in the same house,” Kravitz detailed. “I picked up, and she said, ‘Hi,’ and I noticed her voice was noticeably high-pitched. Then she said, ‘I’m in a bit of trouble. Could you come upstairs?’ I went up, and the bathroom door was shut, so I opened it to find her in a strange crouched position in the corner.”

She elaborated, “I asked, ‘What’s happening?’ She explained, ‘I was washing my face and had Orpheus with me. I set her down for just a moment and closed the door, and she discovered this small hole in the corner.’”

Kravitz described a “small hole” located at the bottom corner of Swift’s bathroom, right next to a built-in banquette that had two drawers underneath.

“My mom was gripping the snake’s tail. They have a lot of muscle and are incredibly strong. I wasn't sure what to do. I thought, ‘Maybe this hole leads to the drawers.’ So, I got down on my knees and tried to remove the drawers. No luck,” she recounted. “I started panicking. As things unfolded, the snake was moving further and further into the hole. I was so anxious that my mom often says, ‘If I had both my hands free, I would have slapped you.’ I was losing it. I told her, ‘I can’t take you anywhere!’”

Eventually, as Kravitz stated, Swift’s house manager stepped in, though he was taken aback to learn about Bonet’s pet snake.

“He grabbed a crowbar and had to start dismantling the banquette. We were tearing up the tile and scratching the walls,” Kravitz narrated. “We completely ruined Taylor’s bathroom, and there was a moment when I thought, ‘We either wreck her bathroom or I must confess that there’s a snake somewhere in her place.’”

In the end, Kravitz found the bravery to reach out to Swift and inform her about what had happened, but it appears the house manager got in touch before her.

“We caused quite a mess in the bathroom, and I told her house manager, ‘Of course, I will cover all the costs for repairs. Just please keep this quiet until it’s all sorted out,’” she recounted. “I distinctly remember calling her and saying, ‘Hey,’ in a very high-pitched tone. ‘Hey, I wanted to discuss something with you.’ And she replied, ‘Is it about the fact that you nearly lost a snake in my house and ruined my bathroom?’”
