Teddi Mellencamp Shares 1st Social Media Post Following Brain Tumor Surgery

Teddi Mellencamp has made her first social media update after undergoing brain tumor surgery recently.
On Tuesday, February 25, nearly two weeks after revealing the urgent procedure on Instagram on February 13, Mellencamp, 43, shared a heartfelt message dedicated to her daughter, Dove, who is 5 years old. "Happy birthday to my miracle baby," Mellencamp wrote. "It’s hard to believe it has been 5 years since you came into our lives and made them so much brighter. Regardless of how much you grow, you will always be My Baby Dovey ❤️."

Her post was accompanied by a video montage featuring pictures that depict the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star as she cradled, fed, and snuggled her daughter over the years. There were also several pictures of Dove alongside Mellencamp's other two children, daughter Slate, 12, and son Cruz, 10. (Mellencamp was previously married to her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, who is the father of her kids, before filing for divorce in November 2024.)

Across the top of the collage were the words, "Happy birthday my baby."

This birthday message was shared after friends of Mellencamp, including Real Housewives of Orange County stars Heather and Terry Dubrow, mentioned that there were promising updates regarding Mellencamp’s recovery journey as she works through her healing process.

During an interview with TMZ on Saturday, February 22, Heather, 56, communicated, "Of course, any updates about Teddi will come from her family, but what we do know is that we received a little bit of good news today, which has made us very happy. We’re sending all our love and support to Teddi and her family.”

Mellencamp received extensive public support following her health announcement on social media on February 13. Writing in white text on a black backdrop, Mellencamp explained how the surgery was prompted.

“For the last few weeks, I’ve been dealing with intense and debilitating headaches,” Mellencamp explained. “Yesterday, the pain reached an unbearable level, necessitating hospitalization. A CT scan and MRI revealed multiple tumors in my brain that are believed to have been growing for at least six months.”

Mellencamp's message continued, "Two of the tumors will be surgically excised today, while the smaller remaining tumors will be addressed with radiation treatment at a later time. I feel blessed to have the support of my children, family, friends, medical professionals, and surgeons who are all doing their utmost to improve my health.”

Arroyave, 47, expressed on Instagram on Monday, February 17, that Mellencamp felt “beyond grateful” after her surgery. “Our family appreciates everyone for their ongoing prayers and kind wishes,” Arroyave wrote at that time. “Teddi is extremely grateful for the overwhelming love as she continues her recovery.”

Throughout her healing process, Arroyave and their children have been by Mellencamp’s side, with Arroyave sharing a photo of himself beside Mellencamp's hospital bed on the day of her surgery.
