Cookbook writer Ayesha Curry and her spouse, NBA superstar Stephen Curry, have celebrated 13 years of marriage.

They are proud parents to four children: 12-year-old Riley, 9-year-old Ryan, 6-year-old Canon, and 9-month-old Caius. Throughout their 13-year journey, Ayesha, 35, and Stephen have publicly shared their love and family life. Recently, during an event for her brand Sweet July, Ayesha revealed the secret to their thriving marriage.

“Our relationship is always our first priority,” Ayesha shared with People. “After that, we focus on being parents. This approach works for us because it means two content individuals are nurturing the kids at home. Thus, the family aspect of our lives always takes precedence.”

She elaborated, “Honestly, it’s about surrounding ourselves with people who are more knowledgeable and capable, who help manage things. They give us the freedom to be creative and genuinely present in our roles. I believe that has been key to our success.”

Among the supportive individuals are her daughters.

“Riley and Ryan act like miniature mothers,” Ayesha remarked about her girls. “Welcoming Caius six years after Canon was the best choice we made,” she continued, noting how Canon “truly embodies the role of a big brother, always wanting to protect him.”

Following her insightful remarks about prioritizing her marriage, fans praised the couple for their openness.

“One day, my kids will share stories with their future partners about how much love their mom and dad had for each other, inspiring them to seek a strong and loving relationship themselves,” a commenter expressed in support.

Ayesha and Stephen’s history goes back to their teenage years. Ayesha fondly recalled Stephen, 36, as “the charming boy at church who caught the attention of all the girls.”

She further emphasized, “If you ever neglect to communicate, make eye contact, and spend quality time together, while laughing and being playful, you risk losing that connection. Therefore, it’s essential to keep the passion alive for a healthy relationship,” she noted back then.

In the same year, Ayesha expressed her pride in how fans often label her and Stephen as couple goals.

“I’m quite confident we can meet people’s expectations,” Ayesha stated. Seven years later, that sentiment still remains relevant.
