Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, was taken into custody on Saturday, February 22, following allegations of assaulting his estranged spouse, Kate Major, as reported by various sources.

Publications including People, TMZ, and Page Six indicated that the 64-year-old was arrested without any issues in Harris County, Texas, facing a single felony charge of “continuous violence against the family.”

Reports indicate that Major experienced pain during a hospital visit on Friday, February 21, and informed law enforcement that Michael had forcefully ejected her from a chair several days prior. A female officer reportedly observed bruising on Major’s body.

Michael was held on a bail set at $30,000, as per the reports. In a statement given to TMZ on Sunday, Michael, 64, refuted the accusations. “I’ve remained silent regarding Kate’s physical, emotional, and verbal abuse for too long,” he stated. “She has set me up. Initially, she claimed I was stalking her! Really? Lol. Then when that didn’t succeed, she accused me of pushing her out of a chair, which is an absolute lie. Not only can my children confirm it, but I also have video evidence. I possess numerous videos of her abusive behavior.” (As of the time of publication, Major had not publicly commented on Michael's remarks.)

Michael and Major, 42, tied the knot in 2014 and have two children together: sons Landon, 12, and Logan, 10. Major initiated divorce proceedings in 2018. (Michael is also the father of four children with his former wife, Dina Lohan, including Lindsay, who is 38 years old.)

Their relationship has seen its fair share of turmoil over the years. In June 2024, Major was apprehended for breaching a protective order following an intense altercation with Michael in the street, as reported by TMZ at that time.

According to the Southampton Police Department, the domestic incident occurred at the Lohan residence, though the arrest took place two miles away on Main Street. “He was arrested without incident,” said Sgt. Herman Lamison at the time.

Michael faced charges of “misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation (choking)” as well as second-degree harassment, according to the sergeant.
