Taylor Frankie Paul disclosed that she is “separating” from the Mormon church.

“Having been raised in the Mormon faith (LDS), I will always cherish and hold it in high regard. I will still accompany my family to services on occasion … that said, it's time for me to step away,” the star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stated in an Instagram Story on Sunday, April 5.

Taylor, age 31, elaborated, “I have a deep belief in Christ, God, the Bible, and the divine. I hold that we are embraced with love whether we pray in a church setting or find ourselves on the bathroom floor at home. I have also been shown grace and affection from incredible individuals who are uncertain about their beliefs, and that's perfectly fine.”

“The main point is there is much more to understand. I'm expressing this as a means of liberation,” she wrapped up.

Taylor initially rose to fame in 2022 when she publicly spoke out about a swinging controversy involving people from Utah’s Mormon community. She shared through TikTok that she and her then-husband, Tate Paul, had participated in “soft swinging” with other couples, including her co-star Miranda Hope McWhorter and Miranda’s former partner, Chase McWhorter.

Both the swinging controversy and Taylor’s experiences within the Mormon church have been pivotal to Hulu’s successful reality show, which debuted in September 2024.

Recently, Taylor made headlines as ABC canceled season 22 of The Bachelorette in light of domestic violence allegations against her and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

Taylor shares a son named Ever, 2, with Dakota, 33, along with a daughter, Indy, 8, and a son, Ocean, 5, with her former husband, Tate.

Earlier that Sunday, the influencer revealed she had been going through “hell on earth” for the past month.

“The last 40 days have felt like hell on earth,” she shared alongside an Instagram video capturing personal moments from her life. “In every panic attack, I sought strength through prayer, feeling my body breaking down from the overwhelming stress.”

“And HE provided just that in myriad forms with unmistakable signs declaring ‘I am with you,’ which I cannot wait to discuss,” she added. “Since childhood, I have prayed consistently and haven't wavered because I trust that He desires us to seek assistance, especially during our lowest times. Yet, rather than merely asking, I shifted to expressing gratitude at the close of each day, regardless of how down I felt.”

ABC announced on March 19 that Taylor's season of The Bachelorette would be canceled after footage surfaced of her and Dakota involved in a domestic altercation. The Draper City Police Department in Utah and the West Jordan Police Department subsequently confirmed they were investigating separate claims of domestic violence concerning the couple.
