A fresh video has emerged featuring Justin Baldoni seemingly making light of "missing sexual harassment training" while on the set of It Ends With Us.
In the video, acquired by The Daily Mail on Monday, November 17, Baldoni, aged 41, delivers the comment as he gets ready to shoot a bar scene for the upcoming 2024 romantic drama, which he both directs and stars in. During this moment, Baldoni was reportedly positioned at a table conversing with co-stars Blake Lively and Jenny Slate, whose faces are not visible in the video.
Baldoni purportedly glances at Lively, 38, and comments “sexy.” He then turns to Slate, 43, and states, “Sorry, I missed the sexual harassment training,” while rolling his eyes.
This footage was submitted to the court by Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios as part of his ongoing legal issues with Lively, as reported by The Daily Mail. The publication noted that the actor-director's attorneys characterized his remark to Lively as “entirely unremarkable,” asserting that she was dressed in a fleece onesie during the recording. In their legal documentation, Baldoni's team allegedly stated that Lively replied, “All good,” in the conversation, claiming that Baldoni’s “facial expression was neutral and did not indicate ogling or suggestiveness.”
Regarding his comment to Slate, Baldoni’s legal representatives labeled it as an apology and described it as “inappropriate.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Baldoni and Lively’s representatives for their responses.
It Ends With Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s popular book of the same title, explores the toxic relationship between Ryle and Lily, played by Baldoni and Lively (who also serves as an executive producer for the film).
Later, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work atmosphere, and attempting to damage her image in a lawsuit filed in December 2024. Baldoni has denied these allegations and countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation. The couple dismissed the claims before the case was dropped in May.
As reported by Us earlier this month, Baldoni's team asserted that Lively improvised an unscripted kiss in a deleted scene from the film. His lawyers contended that Lively "oversaw a scene that she personally added to the script, in which her character kissed Baldoni’s character in every take," even though this action was not part of the original screenplay.
Lively has not publicly commented on these accusations; Us has reached out for her statement.
In prior communications, her team claimed there were additional romantic moments that Baldoni had improvised.
"Justin Baldoni and his attorney may wish for this recent act to preempt the damaging evidence against him, yet the video itself is incriminating. Every frame released aligns precisely with what Ms. Lively outlined in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint," Lively's legal representatives stated to Us in a January announcement, regarding the footage featuring the two stars on set. “The video captures Mr. Baldoni leaning toward Ms. Lively repeatedly, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, commenting on her fragrance, and engaging in conversation with her out of character.”
The assertion went on to say, “All aspects of this were spontaneously created by Mr. Baldoni without prior conversation or approval and without the presence of an intimacy coordinator. Mr. Baldoni held multiple roles, serving not only as Ms. Lively’s co-star but also as the director, head of [the] studio, and Ms. Lively’s supervisor. Any woman who has experienced unwanted contact in the workplace will understand the unease felt by Ms. Lively.”
In response, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, later refuted the claims.
