Adam Sandler expresses his gratitude for having Jackie Sandler, his spouse for 22 years, alongside him.

“We share a strong bond. We enjoy conversations, laughter, having a good time, and examining different ideas while caring for our children,” Adam, 59, shared with People in an interview published on Saturday, November 15.

He continued, “I find myself more thankful than ever before. I’m pleased to have experienced this life, appreciative of everyone who has stood by me throughout these times, offering support, making this journey extraordinary. My entire family has always treated me wonderfully. My wife and I discuss various matters, think about our next steps, and it’s truly been an enjoyable life.”

Adam first encountered Jackie, 51, while working on the set of his 1999 film Big Daddy, where the actress portrayed a waitress. The couple wed in 2003 and subsequently welcomed daughters Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 17, both of whom have made appearances in Adam’s films alongside Jackie.

The family came together in the 2023 film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah and also in this year’s Happy Gilmore 2.

“It has always been our tradition to collaborate with friends and family,” Sandler stated to USA Today earlier this year. “It’s amazing to witness [my kids] improving. They put in the effort and attend school for it, and they truly enjoy it. So, I’m just very proud. I couldn't love them more.”

Later that month, he admitted to feeling “so much relief” regarding his daughters' achievements as they follow his career path.

“Oh my gosh, you just feel relieved,” he remarked. “When they perform well, nothing brings more joy as a parent. It’s akin to being the parent of a baseball player at a game who hits a home run. You’re just thinking, ‘Thank goodness.’”

Sunny is set to star in the upcoming Netflix comedy-drama Don’t Say Good Luck, written by Laura Hankin, which revolves around a teenage girl readying herself for the lead role in her school musical while dealing with her mother’s illness. The cast includes Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, and Bebe Neuwirth.

As for Adam, he currently stars alongside George Clooney in the film Jay Kelly.

“The most significant line for me in the film is when I say to George’s character, ‘Jay, you’re Jay Kelly, but I’m Jay Kelly too.’ I believe everyone I collaborate with shares that sentiment,” Sandler exclusively told Us Weekly at the film’s AFI Fest premiere in New York City last month. “It reflects what I strive for; they assist me in achieving that and work to eliminate any obstacles while contributing ideas to help me perform my best.”

Adam portrays Ron Suzenick, the longtime friend and manager of Clooney’s character, an A-list actor facing an existential crisis.

In a conversation with us, Sandler remembered that director Noah Baumbach, who is associated with Jay Kelly, reached out to him around a year prior to receiving the script. “He mentioned he had a concept in mind and would be crafting it, and I would be part of it. Afterward, I was able to read the script, connect with it on an emotional level, and express my gratitude for all his efforts while also feeling the pressure to ensure I would meet his expectations.”

He further remarked, “It feels really great.”
