On Friday, October 10, Taylor, aged 31, took to Instagram to express the romance she yearns for ahead of her role as the lead in the upcoming ABC reality series set to air in 2026. She posted a video montage showcasing intense romantic experiences from different couples, and captioned the video, “Manifesting my Bachelorette experience.”
In her caption, she elaborated on her aspirations, stating, “I enjoy having fun, but I also really appreciate just hanging out in random spots wearing cozy clothes while having deep conversations and embracing our quirky sides together.”
This post emerged after Taylor’s mother, Liann May, recently shared that it felt “strange” to think about her daughter potentially sharing intimate nights with contestants in the well-known Fantasy Suites of The Bachelorette. During the episode on iHeartRadio’s “Almost Famous” podcast which aired on Monday, October 6, May expressed her concerns, saying, “I will be so upset if she goes through with that. I will be really mad. She may not care much about my opinion, but it does matter to her, yet at the same time, it’s just weird.”
Taylor, who gained popularity from the reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was revealed as the next Bachelorette during her appearance on the September 10 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
An official press release from ABC at that time outlined the reasons for selecting Taylor. The release stated, “The 31-year-old from Utah is prepared to swap sensational heartbreak for hometown interactions as she begins to establish herself within Bachelor Nation.” It further noted, “[Taylor] has emerged as a breakout star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, mesmerizing countless viewers with her authentic and candid storytelling. Beyond television, she’s a TikTok sensation whose humorous, heartfelt, and brutally honest content has garnered a substantial following. As a single mother of three, [Taylor] openly shares the ups and downs of her life with complete honesty.”
She is the mother of daughter Indy, aged 8, and son Ocean, aged 5, whom she shares with her ex-husband Tate Paul, in addition to her one-year-old son Ever, whose father is ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
In a recent exclusive interview with Us Weekly in September, Taylor shared her excitement about meeting new individuals as she steps into the Bachelorette role and discovering more about herself. “I’m really looking forward to … connecting with a few people outside of my usual circle — and even if some might be familiar, that’s perfectly fine — but I’m simply eager to learn about new perspectives and different aspects of myself as well,” she told Us on September 10, while also admitting to feeling anxious about the upcoming experience.
“It definitely pushes me beyond my comfort zone, so it’s understandably daunting,” she explained at that time. “You’re navigating emotions — and considering other people’s emotions — and I genuinely don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, particularly when you’re being open and vulnerable.”
Taylor stands out as the inaugural Bachelorette who did not originate from The Bachelor series, establishing herself as a TikTok personality after gaining recognition on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Her public profile was further heightened when she confessed to infidelity with her ex-husband amid a notable soft-swinging controversy.
In an interview with Us last month, Taylor expressed her eagerness for her followers to witness a different aspect of her personality. "I think they will come into this and it’s something they might not anticipate. So, if I were to share a message with all of them: I possess a side that isn’t often portrayed, and it is very laid-back and easygoing,” she shared. “I enjoy engaging in conversation and chatting. I’m not at all intimidating or harsh. I’m not sure if I project that vibe, but people often say, ‘You’re so nice. You’re genuinely kind.’”
