In retrospect, there were indications that a division between Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban was on the horizon.
A source disclosed to Us Weekly on Monday, September 29, that the couple has ended their relationship after close to twenty years of marriage.
Kidman, aged 58, and Urban, who is 57, originally crossed paths in 2005, four years post her divorce from Tom Cruise. They exchanged vows the subsequent year in Australia, where they both had roots, and became parents to daughters Sunday Rose in 2008 and Faith Margaret via surrogate two years later. (Kidman also has daughter Isabella and son Connor, whom she adopted during her union with Cruise.)
Neither Kidman nor Urban have publicly commented on their separation. Us has attempted to contact their representatives for a statement.

They Haven’t Mentioned Each Other on Social Media In Months
Although Kidman and Urban have been promoting their individual work endeavors on Instagram, they haven’t shared any affectionate couple photos recently. The last time Kidman acknowledged the country star in a post was during their anniversary celebration in June. Urban’s social media has seen no signs of Kidman since May.
In August, Kidman refreshed her social media with snaps from her summer escapades, including pictures of Sunday Rose, aged 17, and Faith, aged 14. Earlier this month, she also posted videos of her shooting Practical Magic 2 alongside Sandra Bullock.
They Were Last Photographed Together in the Summer
On June 20, the former couple was seen smiling together at a FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then, they have not appeared together in public.
The duo also seemed cozy at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas, on May 8, where Kidman was present to watch Urban receive the ACM Triple Crown Award. Before Urban took the stage, they shared a warm moment on the red carpet—now looking back, it appears that this was their last award show attended as a married couple.
Kidman Was Absent From Urban’s Tour
Urban commenced his High and Alive World Tour on May 22, and although he has shared numerous highlights on social media since, Kidman has not been seen backstage or among the audience.
Urban Discussed Their Marital Challenges During Kidman’s AFI Tribute
The musician recently expressed gratitude towards his wife for her support during a difficult period in their marriage.
In April 2024, Urban shared an emotional speech while honoring Kidman at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, revealing, “We got married in June 2006 and just four months into our marriage, my struggles with addiction… which I had not adequately addressed, devastated our relationship. Four months after saying 'I do,' I found myself in rehab for three months. I had no idea what our future held… and if you want a real example of love in action, give that experience a try.”
As Kidman wiped his tears, he remarked, “Nic overcame every negative thought, including possibly some of her own, and she opted for love. And tonight, here we are, 18 years later.”
Kidman Shared That She and Urban Are Focusing on Their Relationship
In an interview for the September 2021 edition of Harper’s Bazaar, the actress spoke candidly about Urban, stating, “We’re constantly navigating things together, but it’s rooted in love, which involves a great deal of give and take. I desire for him to enjoy the best life possible, and he feels the same way.”
