Todd Chrisley is sharing his future ambitions following his and his wife Julie's release from incarceration in May.
The former star of Chrisley Knows Best, aged 56, expressed during a special segment on ABC News, which was available on Hulu on Sunday, June 29, that he and Julie, who is 52, are considering moving from Nashville back to their roots in South Carolina.
“Well, I believe we’ll always maintain a connection to Nashville, but I feel a strong desire for both Julie and me to return to South Carolina — specifically Charleston — that region,” Todd stated, according to People.
“And we’ve got plans for what we’d like to pursue,” he continued, hinting at his upcoming professional endeavor following his pardon and release from prison. Todd mentioned, “We aspire to acquire a hotel — a mansion — there, which we intend to convert into a hotel, and we plan to create a show centered around that.”
Todd and Julie will reappear in the public eye through a new reality series on Lifetime that will spotlight the Chrisley family. During a press briefing on May 30, Todd revealed that he and Julie started filming for the show “literally the night that [Julie and I] got home.”
The reality stars were found guilty on charges including tax evasion and bank and wire fraud in June 2022, yet they continue to assert their innocence. Todd received a 12-year prison sentence, while Julie was sentenced to seven years. They were pardoned by President Donald Trump, which led to their release late last month.
“We owe gratitude to God … and God moved President Trump’s heart,” Todd remarked in a Saturday, June 29, interview on Fox News' My View With Lara Trump. “God inspired people to advocate for us. So, I am incredibly thankful because I prayed every night for God to bring me back to my wife and my children. And he did, so I’m thankful.”
Todd confirmed that after his release from prison, he and his family had the chance to express their gratitude to Trump during a FaceTime video call.
“I told him, ‘Thank you for reuniting me with my family,’” Todd recalled.
In that same interview, the couple's daughter, Savannah, aged 27, who campaigned for their liberation, explained that Trump’s re-election the previous November offered her the best opportunity to have her parents released after they reached an “all-time low.”
“On a personal level, we watched the election together, and [my brother Grayson, 19] cast his vote for the first time,” Savannah shared. “As we were watching and observed the president’s victory, we both started to cry, and he pulled me into a hug because we realized that was our only way out.”
