Brooklyn Beckham is commemorating the fifth anniversary of his marriage proposal to Nicola Peltz!
“It’s been five years since I popped the question to this stunning woman xx best choice ever x I love you endlessly ❤️,” the founder of Cloud23 hot sauce wrote alongside a lovely selfie of him and Nicola shared on Instagram on Monday, June 23.
In the photo, Peltz, 30, is captured taking a mirror selfie with her dark brown hair styled in rollers. Brooklyn, 26, is seen leaning in from behind his spouse, kissing her cheek.
Brooklyn's heartfelt message to his wife comes amidst ongoing family tensions within the Beckham clan that intensified around the time of his father David Beckham's 50th birthday in early May. Brooklyn's siblings—Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and sister Harper, 13—were present at a formal dinner in London and a grand celebration at the Beckhams' residence in the Cotswolds.
An insider exclusively revealed to Us Weekly at that time that the couple was trying to steer clear of Brooklyn’s brother Romeo and his then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. Brooklyn and Nicola sought a “separate meeting” to mark David’s birthday, but he and his wife, Victoria Beckham, reportedly turned down the invitation, according to the source.
In May, another source informed Us that there remains some unresolved tension between Nicola and Victoria, 51, noting that the “bad blood” originates from before Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding in April 2022.
“Things never really got resolved, and you can see it still impacts everyone,” the source explained. “The underlying tension persists, making things difficult for Brooklyn at times. He’s having a challenging moment with it. He’s very determined and simply desires some distance from his family at this point.”
The source further noted: “He fully supports Nicola and stands by her, which has created a strain in his relationship with his parents. Nicola's outspoken nature is a contributing factor to the friction with his parents. She frequently defends Brooklyn and tends to be protective. Brooklyn will consistently align himself with Nicola, which has added more strain between him and his parents.”
Amidst the family turmoil, Brooklyn’s younger brother, Cruz, seemingly directed a jab at him in a recent comment on social media.
On Sunday, June 22, Cruz shared a video on TikTok of himself playing the guitar and performing his track “For Ya Love.”
“Are you going to stick with this job or next is race car driving or something?” a viewer remarked on the video.
“Wrong brother mate,” Cruz replied, seemingly alluding to Brooklyn, who has explored various careers over the years, including photography, cooking, and yes, race car driving.
