On Monday, June 23, Sami, 21, took to her Instagram Stories to post a mirror selfie showcasing herself in a long gray dress. Accompanying the image, she shared some personal updates, stating, “I’ve been dealing with health problems for nearly two years with some unusual symptoms, and I finally found out that I have breast implant illness. I’m not sure how I didn’t figure this out sooner, but I’m extremely relieved to finally have an explanation. I am eager to have them removed as soon as possible so that I can start feeling better.”

She continued, “Please let me know if you’re aware of any reputable explant surgeons in the LA area.”

In a later Story, Sami shared a nostalgic photo of herself in a bikini prior to receiving silicone breast implants.

“Returning to this size is definitely going to be challenging,” said Sami in her caption. “It’s not just a physical challenge, but a mental one. I’m not looking forward to it at all, but I understand that I will feel significantly improved once they’re out. So I suppose it’s worth it. I mentioned this on my TikTok, but I thought I would discuss it here in case anyone else is going through something similar.”

She emphasized: “Consider this your reminder to always prioritize your health!!!” Mentioning her fuller hair in the bikini picture, Sami expressed disbelief that it was all her natural hair, saying it was yet another thing that these implants had taken away from her.

The Cleveland Clinic states that breast implant illness is not officially recognized as a medical diagnosis but describes a variety of symptoms that may arise following breast augmentation.

In another Instagram Story on the same day, Sami—the daughter of former partners Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards—listed her symptoms, which include persistent fatigue, “sensitivity to temperature,” hair thinning, acne, frequent headaches, memory issues, confusion, dizziness, joint and muscle discomfort, mood fluctuations, and “extreme anxiety (I’ve always been anxious, but nothing compares to this).” Additionally, she mentioned that she has been “allergic to nearly everything.”

Sami shared with her many followers that “not everyone who gets implants will face health problems as a result. It’s truly a game of chance, and I consider myself quite unfortunate. However, I am genuinely thankful that I have the option to have them taken out. I feel terrible for the women enduring this who are unable to remove them, as this illness is serious.”

In November 2023, Sami disclosed her plans for surgery, reflecting on her long-standing desire for a larger bust, which was influenced when her mother, Denise, underwent breast augmentation at 19.

“When I was 10 years old, I thought, ‘I can’t wait to have big breasts like my mom,’” she recounted in a conversation with Bustle at that time.
