Nearly ten years after the conclusion of the musical television series Glee, former cast members Chris Colfer and Darren Criss reunited on stage in London for a duet of "Baby It's Cold Outside." The surprise performance took place on Sunday, October 18, during Criss's solo concert event at the Royal Albert Hall.
The moment began when the 39-year-old actor, who portrayed Blaine Anderson on the Fox series, informed the audience that he intended to perform both parts of the holiday duet himself. He noted to the crowd that while the track was not originally structured for a single singer, he had managed to pull off similar arrangements in the past.
Before the song proceeded, Colfer walked onto the stage to join his former costar. Addressing the audience as he arrived, the 36-year-old actor, who played Kurt Hummel, joked that the only inappropriate aspect of performing the song would be attempting it without his involvement. The track itself was originally composed in 1944 by Frank Loesser as a duet with his wife, Lynn Garland, and has since been recorded by numerous musical artists over the decades. The two actors famously performed the same arrangement together during the second season of Glee in 2010.
The London appearance marks one of only a few public gatherings involving members of the television show's original ensemble in recent years. Earlier in the year, actors Kevin McHale and Matthew Morrison reunited in January when they visited former castmate Jonathan Groff backstage at his Broadway production Just In Time. Prior to that encounter, a group of alumni including Jane Lynch, Amber Riley, and Heather Morris gathered in September 2025 to participate in an episode of the game show Celebrity Weakest Link on Fox.
Since the final season of Glee aired, both performers have expanded their careers into different areas of the entertainment industry. Criss secured a lead role in the 2018 television series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and has continued to work on Broadway, where he acts in and serves as a producer for the production Maybe Happy Ending.
Meanwhile, Colfer has focused extensively on an authorial career, establishing himself as a publishing figure through his bestselling children's book franchise, The Land of Stories, alongside several other book releases. Beyond his literary projects, Colfer is scheduled to appear in the upcoming feature film The Restoration at Grayson Manor.
The London stage reunion coincides with recent developments regarding the potential continuation of the franchise. On September 23, series co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed to Entertainment Tonight that a new script for a show revival had officially been completed. The 60-year-old showrunner explained that he had collaborated with original series writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who together penned the show's initial two seasons, to draft the new material. Murphy further shared that he had begun reaching out to several core cast members regarding the project, contacting stars including Lea Michele, 47-year-old Matthew Morrison, 66-year-old Jane Lynch, 38-year-old Kevin McHale, and 40-year-old Amber Riley.
