Anne Hathaway had a special night out on the red carpet with her husband, Adam Shulman, while receiving recognition at God’s Love We Deliver’s 2025 Golden Heart Awards held in New York City.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is 42, and her jewelry designer partner seemed affectionate as Shulman assisted Hathaway from a vehicle in front of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine for the red carpet event that took place on Monday, October 20. Later, Hathaway appeared alone for photographs while Shulman, aged 44, watched from the side.
The star of The Devil Wears Prada looked stunning in a completely black outfit, wearing her hair down for the event. In addition to posing alone for the cameras, she took pictures with other notable guests, including model Gigi Hadid, fashion designer Michael Kors, and fellow recipient Audra McDonald.
The annual ceremony honored both Hathaway and McDonald, 55, for their ongoing contributions to God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that provides medically tailored meals to those who cannot shop or prepare food for themselves.
This evening on the red carpet follows a rare opportunity a few months back when Hathaway discussed her family life with Shulman and their two children, Jonathan, 9, and Jack, 5, during an interview with Vogue.
The piece highlighted that during her free time, when not working, Hathaway enjoys “hanging out” with her family.
She shared some of the fun activities she engages in with her husband and children, including “playing Uno, baking when possible, and teaching the kids to dribble a basketball in the apartment without bothering the neighbors.”
In the same article, actor Bradley Cooper talked about forming a friendship with Hathaway and Shulman through playdates for their kids during the COVID-19 pandemic. (Cooper, 50, has an eight-year-old daughter named Lea with ex-partner Irina Shayk.)
“We began to bond as parents, hosting dance parties with our kids in my kitchen, and I developed a great fondness for both of them,” Cooper remarked.
He also commended Hathaway and Shulman’s relationship, calling it “a symbol of that kind of commitment” and expressed how they “enrich” one another’s lives.
Hathaway and Shulman first crossed paths in April 2008 and began their romantic relationship later that same year. They got engaged in 2011 and tied the knot a year following that.
In a 2013 conversation with Harper’s Bazaar U.K., the star of The Idea of You conveyed that she “knew the moment I met him that he was the love of my life.”
“‘I’m going to marry that man.’ I believe he found me a little crazy, which I am to some extent, but I’m also kind,” she recalled saying to a friend.
Additionally, on Monday, Hathaway conveyed her recent activities through an Instagram post. She mentioned, in part, “I’m running again … but not in heels because [Devil Wears Prada 2] principal photography is COMPLETE.”
Hathaway returns to her character Andrea “Andy” Sachs in the follow-up to the successful 2006 comedy The Devil Wears Prada, once more sharing the screen with Meryl Streep, who plays fashion editor Miranda Priestly. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci will also return to their roles as Miranda’s assistant Emily Charlton and stylist Nigel Kipling, respectively.
The release date for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for May 1, 2026.
