Zendaya has reached the age of 29!
The actress shared a nostalgic image of herself as a young girl enjoying a merry-go-round on Instagram this past Monday, September 1.
"I'm here to express my gratitude for another year of life and for all of you who contribute to making it so wonderful," she expressed in her caption. "I truly appreciate all the love and heartfelt messages…. as always, let’s toast to (the official final year of my twenties, literally what?!) 29 🫶🏽Z."
Her friends and followers celebrated her special day in the comment section.
“Happy birthday ❤️❤️❤️,” commented Jason Momoa, while Dove Cameron said, “happy birthday angel.”
A fan assured the actress and fashion icon that “the 30’s is where it’s at! 😍❤️ happy birthday!!!”
Zendaya was young when she secured her first television role in Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, which ran from 2010 to 2013. She later transitioned to film, making her debut in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, where she met her future fiancé, Tom Holland. She subsequently starred in the Spider-Man sequels, as well as The Greatest Showman, Challengers, and the Dune sci-fi series.
In 2021, at the age of 24, Zendaya became the youngest Emmy winner in her category when she received the award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of teen drug addict Rue Bennett on HBO’s Euphoria.
Holland proposed during the holiday season of 2024.
“Tom thought the holidays would be the perfect time to pop the question in a very understated manner,” a source revealed to Us in January. “She didn’t want anything extravagant.”
The insider mentioned that Holland “felt it was the right moment in his life and was ready to commit. They have had many discussions over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is thrilled and excited. She had an inkling it might happen but never put any pressure on it.”
The busy duo has not yet begun planning their wedding.
“The planning hasn’t even begun,” Zendaya’s long-time stylist, Law Roach, informed E! News in July. “Zendaya is occupied with numerous films. She is currently shooting the next installment of Dune, so she’s off working on that. There are so many projects, so we have plenty of time. We have a lot of time.”
