Chase Chrisley and his younger sibling, Grayson Chrisley, openly discussed their positions within the family's new show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.

In the second episode, which aired on Monday, September 1, Grayson, who is 19, drew a parallel between his connection with Chase, aged 29, and that of their father, Todd Chrisley, and their uncle Randy.

“My concern is that I see a lot of similarities between me and Chase and what I observed with my dad and his brother,” he shared with the cameras. “We don't converse much with him because my dad constantly had to rescue him from various situations. And my dad tried to support him throughout his life... You can’t assist someone who doesn’t have the desire to assist themselves.”

While spending quality time with their grandmother Nanny Faye, Grayson mentioned that Chase had invited him for a round of golf. Nanny seemed optimistic that this could signal a positive change for the brothers’ relationship, although Grayson seemed doubtful.

In a confessional, Chase elaborated on the dynamics between the siblings and how their sister Savannah Chrisley influences their relationship. “I wish I could see Grayson more often. I feel like Savannah has created a bit of distance between us,” he claimed, adding that he was eager to “enjoy some time” with Grayson and “ask him about college and how he has been.”

Both Grayson and Savannah, who is 28, voiced their disappointment regarding Chase’s absence during the family’s tough times after Todd, aged 56, and Julie Chrisley were sentenced for tax evasion and bank fraud. The couple served a combined total of 28 months in different facilities before being pardoned and released in May.

“Chase lives in a reality that only makes sense to him. It doesn’t resonate with anyone else,” Grayson expressed during Monday’s episode. “Ultimately, he’s going to act as he chooses, and there’s nothing anyone can [do to] change that.”

While golfing, Chase told Grayson that he wanted to avoid another “awkward” family dinner like the one that was filmed during the Lifetime premiere. Grayson suggested that a good starting point would be “improving himself, which benefits everyone.” (Earlier in the episode, Chase’s family shared their thoughts on his arrest in January for simple battery that occurred after a drunken night in Atlanta.)

Grayson also urged his older brother to visit a therapist, but Chase insisted he didn’t require one. “You’re my brother, I care for you. I would really like to see you get your life on track,” Grayson remarked.

Chase, however, continued to place most of the blame on their sister for the friction within the family. “Savannah just wants admiration, and I'm not going to provide that. I don’t understand what her issue is with me,” he confided to Grayson, asserting that his messages and calls to Savannah often remain unanswered.

“I understand that Savannah is trying to portray me as this menacing figure who isn’t supportive of the family, but that’s simply not accurate. I want to be present for my family. My desire is for us to have a genuine family bond and relationship,” Chase expressed in a confessional. “I've reached out and offered my apologies for anything she believes I may have done or failed to do. I also let her know that I’m available whenever she decides to talk. I just sense that she isn’t prepared for that right now.”

On the other hand, Grayson suggests that the apology may not have been heartfelt. “[He] made it seem like it was a sincere gesture, that he wished to mend the relationship, but then he added, ‘We really need to improve our rapport for the show,’” Grayson contended. “He performs everything for the benefit of the cameras.”

As tensions heightened during the boys’ golf outing, Chase cautioned a producer that he might walk out. Grayson then remarked, “We aren’t making any progress with this. It’s a disaster.”

The Chrisleys: Back to Reality will continue airing on Lifetime on Tuesday, September 2, at 8 p.m. ET, featuring two consecutive episodes on September 9. The finale is scheduled for September 16.
