Prince Jackson, the eldest son of Michael Jackson, is preparing to tie the knot.

At 28 years old, Prince, whose full name is Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., shared the news of his engagement to his college girlfriend Molly Schirmang on Instagram on Sunday, August 26, after an eight-year relationship.

“Eight years down, forever to go. Molly and I have shared countless moments together and created amazing memories. We’ve explored the globe, graduated, and grown immensely side by side,” Prince wrote alongside a series of images showcasing their experiences. “I’m thrilled about this new chapter in our lives as we keep growing and creating wonderful memories. I love you, babe.”

The collection of photos featured moments of the couple, including a kiss in a park as they displayed Schirmang’s engagement ring, hiking, kayaking, and attending various red carpet functions in outfits.

Prince’s mother, Debbie Rowe, 66, also shared Michael Jackson's legacy through their two children, Paris Jackson and Bigi Jackson, following Michael's passing at 50 in June 2009. Bigi, originally named Blanket, changed his name in 2015 and was born via surrogate in 2002, after Rowe gave birth to Paris in 1998.

Fans of the iconic pop star expressed their excitement in the comments of Prince’s announcement. One follower wrote, “Your father would be so happy for you!” while another added, “I wish I could have seen him moonwalk at your reception!”

Prince has generally kept a low profile, making only infrequent appearances at public functions. He made a notable visit to Australia in March, where he attended the Sydney premiere of MJ: The Musical.

Despite his limited public presence, Prince spoke about his legendary father in a December 2024 interview with the Associated Press. He expressed uncertainty about whether he could ever live up to his father's legacy, stating, “But I carry it [his family history] with … pride.”

The conversation also touched on the bond Michael had with Paris and Bigi, who is now 22. “Each of us siblings has a unique piece of him,” Prince shared at the time. “For me, it’s this philanthropic aspect of giving back, which I am truly passionate about. I just hope our efforts make him proud.”

The siblings appear to have remained tightly knit, as all three attended the London premiere of MJ: The Musical together in March 2024, walking the red carpet and posing for photos side by side.
