Olivia Jade Giannulli has expressed that she is dealing with “uncomfortable changes” after her breakup with Jacob Elordi.
The social media personality shared her emotions in a YouTube video uploaded on Sunday, August 24.
“I believe summer is often depicted as a carefree, idyllic time, but I want to remind you that it’s perfectly okay to feel a bit uneasy or anxious during significant transitions or seasonal shifts or whatever else may arise,” Giannulli stated in the video.
She mentioned that the day before she recorded the video, she had a conversation with her therapist, using “therapy to cope with a lot of anxiety and uncomfortable transitions” and to “handle various situations in life.” Giannulli expressed, “I truly feel that my therapist has been a great source of support during this phase of change in my life, and I am very thankful for having someone to confide in.”
She elaborated on how her therapist has assisted her in “perceiving things from a new perspective.”
Earlier this month, Us Weekly reported that Giannulli and Elordi, 28, had ended their relationship after having dated intermittently for three years.
“Things have been tumultuous between them throughout the summer,” a source exclusively informed Us on August 8. “Olivia moved to Paris to escape and seek a fresh start for a little while. She needed a change in her environment.”
According to the insider, the former couple had “recently split,” adding that Giannulli was “relishing her newfound freedom in the city” while Elordi concentrated on his acting career. Ultimately, “the physical distance had created difficulties in their relationship,” the source explained.
Giannulli and Elordi were first romantically linked in December 2021 when they were seen together in Los Angeles, just a month after Us confirmed Elordi’s breakup with Kaia Gerber. (Elordi and Gerber, 23, had been together for over a year prior to their separation in November 2021.)
The couple ended their relationship in August 2022 but reconciled in May 2023, wishing “to explore if their connection was still present,” a source disclosed exclusively to Us at that time.
In January 2024, Us confirmed that the duo had once again parted ways. However, shortly after this information surfaced, they reunited and aimed to keep their relationship “private.”
A different source informed Us in February 2024 that “Olivia Jade does not wish to be recognized solely as Jacob's girlfriend.”
In her YouTube video on Sunday, the Los Angeles-born daughter of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli shared that she’s relocating to New York City and “experiencing a range of emotions.”
She remarked, “I feel like committing to this move and truly allowing the reality of relocating across the country for the first time away from my family to sink in.”
