Did Tiffany Haddish have a baby with Jason Lee?
On Sunday, August 3, the pair posted pictures on Instagram showcasing their joy as they posed with a charming infant. A delighted Haddish, 45, donned a denim dress while cradling the baby, who was dressed in a blue outfit and hat. In one of the images, Lee, 47, is seen embracing Haddish and holding a stroller. “Cats out the bag ❤️,” he wrote in the caption of their joint post.
The pictures sparked confusion among fans, who took to the comments section seeking clarification.
“What does this mean,” actress Tasha Smith inquired, while former reality television star Renee Graziano responded with: “Wait what??????”
Another commenter remarked, “Someone go get the cat, I have questions.”
Speculation ran rampant, with one fan curious, “Does this imply that you both had a baby together through surrogacy?” Another individual questioned, “Jason..for real?! Or are you just joking??” That commenter then congratulated the podcaster, stating: “You’d make an amazing dad! Both are gorgeous parents!”
Haddish was married to William Stewart in 2008 but filed for divorce three years later, with the process concluding in 2013. She then had a relationship with rapper Common from 2020 to 2021 after they connected while filming the 2019 movie The Kitchen. She later mentioned that he ended their relationship over the phone.
“[It was] the healthiest, the funnest [sic] relationship I’ve ever had,” she expressed to The Washington Post in 2023. “It’s where I felt the safest compared to all the relationships I’ve had.”
In the following year, Haddish talked about her dating preferences on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast.
“I don’t think I’ll ever f*** a movie star. Ever,” Haddish stated in May 2024. “I f***ed an entertainer. I don’t think I’ll ever do that again. I think I might f*** one again, but not in a relationship.”
Fast forward to May 2025, when she appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, revealing, “I’m still dating several new people. But a few from the previous roster have made the transition to the new roster. There’s a couple holdovers. I’m managing a team here.”
In the previous November, Haddish had participated in an episode of Lee’s podcast “Hollywood Unlocked,” during which the close friends discussed the idea of having a child together.
“You promised me you would give me a kid,” Lee, who is gay, remarked back then. “So let me ask you this question. I had Cardi B here, and she’s already agreed to be my kid’s godmother. You said you would give me a child. Are you serious about that?”
Haddish responded, “Yes. I wanted to discuss the expense of… because I mentioned I wanted to do it the old-fashioned way. You said no. So I want to talk to you about the costs of [having a baby].”
"I am currently enrolled in parenting classes in preparation for adoption," she expressed at that moment. "I am considering children aged 5 and older — ideally around 7. I would like them to be somewhat independent, such as being able to use the bathroom by themselves and communicate effectively. I want them to understand that I have made an effort and that I truly desired to have them."
Additionally, she mentioned, "I don't want to pay anyone to carry my baby either, because that would involve undergoing a series of injections and other procedures. And I’ve actually made a significant decision — here's something that many don't know, I'll share it with you: When I was 21, I was in a tough financial spot and ended up donating several eggs."
She remarked, "So who knows, I might have kids out there somewhere. I doubt it, though, since I never received any compensation. But maybe, just maybe, they’re somewhere in cryopreservation!"
