For Travis Kelce, it’s a case of hair now, gone the next!

On Sunday, July 27, the Kansas City Chiefs held their fifth practice in preparation for the forthcoming NFL season. However, the buzz at training camp was all about Kelce’s hairstyle.

The 35-year-old Chiefs tight end was spotted with his recognizable buzz cut and faded sides during the practice at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, having previously flaunted long ‘90s-style curtains throughout the summer.

The official social media channels of the Chiefs posted a picture of Kelce showcasing his fresh haircut. The caption read, “Fresh cut Trav 😮‍💨,” accompanying a snapshot of the smiling player on Instagram.

Additionally, Chiefs’ assistant special teams coach Porter Ellett captured a photograph with Kelce and two of his children on Sunday, highlighting the tight end’s return to his classic look.

Responses from fans on social media to Kelce’s new hairstyle varied.

“He’s brought back the fade! Super Bowl is on the horizon!! Let’s go Kelce, have an amazing season!! ❤️💛,” expressed one user on X.

Conversely, another fan account mourned, “His gorgeous hair is gone 😭😭.”

Over the past year, Kelce often sported longer hair, styled back, both on and off the field. During the Chiefs’ training camp for 2024, teammate Patrick Mahomes humorously suggested that his long hair growth was influenced by his pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift.

“I had been encouraging him to grow it out, and suddenly Taylor gets him to do it,” Mahomes shared during an August 2024 interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Bruce Murray and Alex Smith.

Kelce and Swift, both 35, have had a relaxed summer following the conclusion of the previous NFL season, which ended with the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the Chiefs for the Super Bowl LIX title in February.

On Thursday, July 24, the tight end took to Instagram, posting a collection of photos from his off-field summer experiences — including moments with Swift, thereby making their relationship Instagram official after two years of dating. "Had some adventures this offseason," Kelce wrote as he shared a series of images, showing himself and Swift at a late-night dinner, skiing with friends, and ice skating.
