The star of General Hospital, Steve Burton, has discovered a joyful conclusion with his new spouse, Michelle Lundstrom.
The actor, aged 54, tied the knot with Lundstrom on Saturday, May 17, in a cozy Orthodox church ceremony alongside family. They marked the occasion with a reception at Montage Laguna Beach in California.
“This occasion signifies more than just a ceremony,” Burton expressed to People. “It marks the start of forever with the love of my life.”
As reported by the publication, several of Burton’s colleagues from General Hospital attended to celebrate the joyous occasion. (Jonathan Jackson and spouse Lisa Vultaggio were part of the wedding party.) Burton’s three children — daughters Makena, 21, and Brooklyn, 10, along with son Jack, 19 — participated in the event, as did Lundstrom’s daughters from a prior relationship — Lilah, 14, and Hannah, 10. Her daughters also played a role in selecting the ideal wedding gown: a strapless dress custom-designed by Lee Petra Grebenau. “When I tried on my dress, I was certain it was the one,” Lundstrom recalled. “I came out to show my girls, and they both exclaimed, ‘That’s the one, Mom!’ We all recognized it.”
As they embark on their new journey together, Lundstrom expressed that she has “never felt so safe and loved” before, a sentiment that Burton shares. “I get to spend my life with my best friend, evolving together each day in love and faith,” Burton shared. “Honestly, I’ve never felt more loved and cared for in my life. I am deeply thankful to have her by my side. She is an incredible, beautiful, and selfless woman. I love her immensely.”
For Lundstrom, discovering love with Burton resembles a fairy tale. “He is like pure sunshine — forever uplifting and caring. His love improves me every day,” the bride said. “Having the most remarkable man I’ve ever known by my side for eternity provides me with immense peace and joy. He is my love, and I feel incredibly fortunate to call him mine.”
Previously, the soap star was married to Sheree Burton from 1999 until 2023. Steve initiated divorce proceedings in July 2022, just two months after claiming that Sheree was expecting a child with another man. In documents acquired by Us Weekly, he indicated March 1 as their date of separation and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
The former couple reached a settlement in December 2023, agreeing to co-parent their younger children with joint legal and physical custody. Steve was mandated to provide Sheree with $12,500 monthly in child support until April 2024, after which the payment would decrease to $10,000 monthly. Additionally, he was to pay $2,500 monthly in extra support until his total payments reached $50,000.
Sheree welcomed her fourth child, daughter Izabella, in February 2023. “I know I’m far from perfect, but my kids know they are loved, and that’s what truly matters,” she shared in an Instagram post at that time.
A year later, Sheree shared the news of the arrival of her fifth child, a daughter named Addy Jay. She has not disclosed the identity of the father of her youngest children.
In January, Steve popped the question to Lundstrom after publicly acknowledging their relationship in May 2024.
