Tom Cruise finds himself taking on yet another seemingly unattainable task.

The 62-year-old star of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has vocalized his aspirations to keep making films even beyond the century mark.

At the premiere of the latest Mission: Impossible film in New York City on Sunday, May 18, Cruise was reminded of a statement he made a few years earlier, expressing his desire to work on films until his 80s.

Now, he has raised his sights even higher.

“Perhaps I’m going to continue making films well into my 100s,” Cruise remarked to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet. “I will never quit. I will never stop performing action. I will never stop creating drama or comedy films. I’m truly enthusiastic.”

The new film represents the eighth, and seemingly conclusive, chapter in the Mission: Impossible series. For nearly thirty years, the actor has portrayed the character Ethan Hunt in this action franchise. (The inaugural Mission: Impossible debuted in 1996.)

Although there are indications—such as the film's title—that Final Reckoning might serve as the final entry in the Mission: Impossible series, Cruise has refrained from confirming or denying whether the franchise is reaching its conclusion.

“You need to watch the film,” he conveyed to Empire in a February interview. “It's challenging for me to discuss right now because this is something that must be experienced.”

Cruise characterized Final Reckoning as “an epic, emotional journey encompassing the entire franchise.”

During the same interview, Director Christopher McQuarrie also remained elusive, hinting at the future of Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character, a spy known for tackling seemingly impossible missions.

“I hope this serves as a fulfilling conclusion to a storyline that spans 30 years,” McQuarrie, 56, shared with the publication. “I’m quite confident that viewers will agree that the title is fitting.”

Last week, Cruise drew attention when he praised Ana de Armas’ recent hit, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, amid ongoing speculation regarding a potential romantic relationship between them.

“I watched the movie, and it’s fantastic,” Cruise commented, according to social media footage. “Oh, it’s right on point. It fits perfectly within that expansive world, and you’re going to adore it.”

A source recently informed Us Weekly that de Armas, 37, and Cruise have been on a few dates amidst the swirling rumors of their romance.

“It’s casual, still fresh and in the early stages,” the insider exclusively revealed to Us. “Their relationship is definitely kept under wraps.”

According to the source, de Armas and Cruise were introduced through mutual acquaintances, including Penelope Cruz.

“Penelope gave her an excellent recommendation both personally and professionally,” the source noted.
