The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, opened up about experiencing some “really hard” nights in a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 15.
Mellencamp recently underwent surgery for multiple brain tumors and is undergoing further treatment to treat more tumors.
“I know I speak a lot about all the fun and amazing things that I’ve been doing since all of the tumors, and I have been doing them, and it’s been my way of peace, of coping, finding happiness, but I also wanted to send a reminder and a gentle, like, ‘I feel you,’ if you’re going through this, going through a hard time, that is also normal,” Mellencamp said while lying down in bed, reported People.
“We all find our new normal, and we do the best that we can to feel as good as we can in that moment. Some nights [are] really hard. Tonight’s one of them,” she added.
On Sunday, March 16, Mellencamp gave another update on her recovery, noting that she drinks a bottle of Powerade each morning, which she said is “not my favorite.”
“Trying to suck down a bottle of this every morning is a real dream,” she said sarcastically. “But I guess it’s supposed to help.”
In Sunday’s update, Mellencamp also revealed that she is expected to “start a week of radiation” on Monday, March 17, as she continues her treatment.
In February, the reality star had several tumors removed from her brain after experiencing “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks.
“I am grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctors and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process more comfortable,” Mellencamp shared via Instagram on February 26. “In full transparency, more tumors were removed than expected: 4 in total. This fight is not over, but that round has been won.”
On March 6, Mellencamp gave an update on her health, revealing that doctors had found more tumors in her brain and lungs.
“Update from my scans today: I have 3 more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs. These are all a direct result of my melanoma,” she shared.
