Brynn Whitfield is stepping into the world of podcasts, playfully suggesting there could be a hidden agenda behind her decision.
“I’ve learned a lot from Shep [Rose] and Tyler Cameron. One key takeaway is that I can’t flirt with anyone in public without it leading to six months of speculation about what’s happening,” the 39-year-old star of Real Housewives of New York City shared exclusively with Us Weekly ahead of the premiere of her podcast “Please See Below.” “Yet, I just went ahead and flirted during my first episode. I kept saying, ‘I was a podcast virgin before this.’”
Whitfield hinted that her inaugural guest on the podcast, set to launch on Wednesday, March 19, is the “handsome guy from Bachelor Nation,” Jason Tartick.
“He’s incredibly good-looking, and I could feel his abs when I hugged him, which was distracting,” she confessed. “However, I had a really enjoyable chat with him. He’s wonderful, smart, and amazing.” Their “open conversation” explored how love and finances are connected. Whitfield mentioned that their playful exchanges might have seemed flirtatious, potentially leading listeners to think there was chemistry. Still, the reality television star admitted that Tartick, 36, is now just a “close friend.” Nonetheless, she remains open to the idea of inviting other potential romantic interests for a discussion.
“I was toying with the idea of using the podcast like ‘The Chicken Shop’ podcast. Should I just treat this as a way to date others? It’s really not just a podcast, you guys; it’s essentially a grand scheme for me to find dates,” she joked. “After all, people do fall in love on podcasts!”
Regarding her current dating situation, she revealed to Us that it has been pretty quiet lately since her DMs have seen fewer men reaching out.
“That’s unfortunate. I was really looking forward to it,” she admitted. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, this is going to be fantastic.’ But there are definitely fewer guys in my DMs now.”
However, that’s not her only challenge. Whitfield shared that some of the men she has dated find it confusing when she mentions being a Real Housewife without actually being married.
“When I explain what I do, they’re like, ‘Oh, that’s really cool. My mom watches the show,’ or my sister watches it,’ or something like that,” she stated. “Then the next question is always, 'Wait, you’re not actually married, are you?’ and I have to delve into the backstory.”
Whitfield will continue her role on RHONY while also hosting her podcast, which will cover a range of topics including love, finances, intimacy, business, relationships, and much more.
In the most recent season, I believe that in both seasons I have had the honor of being part of RHONY, viewers have glimpsed aspects of who I am, she shared with Us. "Now, you will receive the complete picture, including details that you might not even be interested in — the supplementary notes, but everything will be included beneath the signature line."
