Rebecca Minkoff Announces She Will Not Return to ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’

Rebecca Minkoff’s involvement in The Real Housewives of New York City has officially concluded.

On Tuesday, February 4 — coinciding with the broadcast of part two of the season 15 RHONY reunion on Bravo — Minkoff, 42, shared the news on Instagram that she is departing from the reality series after just one season.

"I am sincerely thankful for the journey, the friendships formed, and the supporters who have been part of this RHONY experience," the fashion designer posted in white text against a dark backdrop. "It’s time for a new chapter."

She simply labeled the post with, "#newchapter."

Minkoff's announcement came on the same day as an interview with Us, where she touched upon her choice not to publicly discuss her faith, Scientology, while on RHONY. She mentioned to Us during the conversation that it "was never approached in a respectful way."

Her Instagram update also highlighted various endeavors that will take precedence in her life for the upcoming year. "2025 marks a fresh start for me, and given the current events around the globe, I feel more than ever the significance of family, friends, and community," Minkoff expressed. "The past month has provided me with a renewed outlook on prioritizing my truly wonderful four children, my supportive spouse, my two-decade-long business, the Female Founder Collective, my podcast, and MY BOOK."

She elaborated, "Despite everything I’ve gained through this franchise and its supporters, I wish to refocus on what truly matters to me: creating designs, giving back, uplifting women, and nurturing my family."

Minkoff asserted, “It was always presented with, as Brynn [Whitfield] mentions, ‘I enjoy playing terrible games. I like to stir the pot,’” regarding how her beliefs were portrayed during filming.

In an episode that aired in October 2024, Whitfield brought up Scientology with Jessel Taank while aboard a helicopter heading to the Hamptons. Minkoff referenced this moment to underline her concerns about how her faith was included in the show.

“I believe the other instance she mentioned it in the helicopter came after she’d been drinking all day, and it wasn’t introduced with any genuine concern,” Minkoff explained to Us. “And we had only just met. So, am I supposed to inquire about your religious beliefs right after meeting you? Get to know me first.”

The episode also featured Whitfield describing the discussion and Minkoff’s input as, “like having a conversation with a door-to-door salesman trying to sell me snake oil,” a characterization Minkoff condemned as “offensive” during part two of the reunion special.

During the reunion, Minkoff also responded to a fan who suggested she should “stop normalizing cults” by discussing Scientology on the program.
