Demi Moore Commiserates Oscars Loss With Dog Pilaf and 2 Huge Bowls of French Fries

Demi Moore expressed her feelings about her loss at the Oscars in a way that many can relate to.

At 62 years old, Moore narrowly lost the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Substance on Sunday, March 2. However, she found comfort in her dog, Pilaf, and enjoyed two large servings of French fries.

Tallulah Willis, Moore's 31-year-old daughter, documented her mother’s post-Oscars evening on Instagram Sunday night. In a photo shared with her audience, Tallulah captured Moore, dressed in a white bathrobe, snuggling with her treasured Chihuahua and treating herself to a well-deserved snack.

“MY winner 🍟,” was the caption Tallulah used for the post. Earlier in the day, Tallulah, the daughter of Moore and her former husband, actor Bruce Willis, showed her support for her mother as she prepared to attend the Oscars. She posted a picture of herself wearing a sweatshirt that proclaimed, “Demi F—ing Moore.” (Moore and Willis are also parents to daughters Rumer Willis, 36, and Scout Willis, 33.)

Moore was considered the frontrunner for the Best Actress award for her portrayal of TV fitness personality Elizabeth Sparkle in the body-horror film The Substance. Despite securing both a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for the performance, she ultimately lost the Oscar to Mikey Madison, the star of Anora.

During her acceptance speech, Madison remarked, “This feels very surreal. I’m sorry, I'm nervous, so I will be reading from a paper. Thank you to the Academy. I grew up in Los Angeles, yet Hollywood always seemed distant from me. So standing here in this room today is truly amazing.”

Madison, who portrayed a stripper in the movie, also expressed gratitude towards the “sex worker community” during her speech.

“I will continue to support and stand with them,” she stated. “Meeting the women from that community has been one of the most significant aspects of this remarkable experience.”

In the same category, Moore faced competition from Cynthia Erivo of Wicked, Karla Sofía Gascón from Emilia Pérez, and Fernanda Torres from I’m Still Here.

This year's nominees, Gascón, 52, Madison, 25, Moore, 62, and Torres, 59, were all first-time Academy Award contenders. Erivo, 38, had received two nominations in 2020 for her role in Harriet: one for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman and another for Best Original Song with “Stand Up.”

Anora was awarded Best Picture, while Adrien Brody earned Best Actor for The Brutalist, Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez, and Kieran Culkin was recognized as Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain.
