Brandon Sklenar Addresses Wearing the Same Floral Pin as Justin Baldoni

Brandon Sklenar’s floral brooch did not signify his endorsement for Justin Baldoni.

“That was purely coincidental,” Sklenar, 34, stated in an interview with People on Sunday, March 9. “I woke up that morning and read an article and thought, ‘Oh, wow.’ I honestly had no prior knowledge.”

Earlier this month, Sklenar attended the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party dressed in a black suit featuring a pink David Yurman floral pin. Observant fans quickly noted that Baldoni, 41, had worn the same accessory during the premiere of It Ends With Us in August 2024. (In the film adapted from Colleen Hoover's novel, Sklenar and Baldoni portrayed Atlas and Ryle, respectively, in a story that explores an abusive relationship.)

“I had the desire to wear a floral brooch of some sort, and that particular color appealed to me the most,” Sklenar elaborated on Sunday while participating in the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas. “And then, as it happened, someone else had donned it before me.”

The apparent fashion misstep occurred amidst Baldoni’s ongoing legal disputes with his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively.

In December 2024, Lively lodged a complaint against Baldoni, who directed the film, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Baldoni has firmly denied all accusations and subsequently filed two lawsuits in response.

He first sued The New York Times — which released Lively’s original complaint in its entirety — for $250 million. A judge in New York has since granted a pause on this suit after the newspaper requested a motion for dismissal. Baldoni's second lawsuit targets Lively, 37, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane, seeking $400 million in damages. Last month, Sloane sought to have her name removed from this lawsuit.

Baldoni and Lively are set to appear in court beginning March 2026. Nevertheless, the trial judge has indicated that the date may be advanced if their issues continue to unfold publicly.

In the meantime, Sklenar has tried to remain detached from the conflict. He initially expressed his support for Lively by sharing the New York Times article detailing her complaint on Instagram. Since then, he has often reminded fans of the main message of It Ends With Us.

“It’s a challenging situation. I truly hope everyone keeps in mind what the movie represents and the reason we created it in the first place,” Sklenar mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. “It’s about love and it focuses on supporting women and assisting individuals in difficult times. That film has aided numerous people, and I just want everyone to recall its significance and why we made it.”
