Meghan Markle fans are attempting their own honey lemon layer cakes and other recipes from her new Netflix show — and the Duchess of Sussex is loving it!
Meghan, 43, highlighted just a few social media posts that her show, With Love, Meghan, has inspired via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, March 9. Among the posts are people taking inspiration from Meghan’s crudités platters, citrus cake, one-pot pasta and the royal’s focaccia recipe.
“Love seeing how inspired you are by With Love, Meghan,” the duchess wrote over the various social media screenshots she shared. “Keep up the beautiful work!”
“Let me tell y’all something. I made Meghan the Duchess of Sussex menu items from her show With Love, Meghan on @netflix and all I’m saying is that everyone loved it!!” wrote one Threads user alongside pictures of the tasty dishes they cooked up.
They added, “OMG. I made the Honey Lemon Layer Cake with Raspberry, the pasta in episode one and the Focaccia. So so good. Listen if you don’t do anything else, make yourself one of these. I’m going to try the Tempura Fried Chicken next.”
“Tell me you watched the new Netflix show without telling me which show,” shared another Threads user, who captured their attempt at making Meghan’s one-pot pasta recipe, which combines spaghetti, olive oil, tomatoes, green vegetables and cheese.
“You put the dry pasta in, you pour boiling water on top, and that’s it,” Meghan said on the show, emphasizing how easy the dish is to make at home.
With Love, Meghan has received a mixed reaction from viewers since it dropped Tuesday, March 4, on Netflix.
The show’s director, Michael Steed, praised Meghan’s kitchen skills in an interview with People. “Her cooking is pretty spot-on. She’s not a chef, and it’s definitely not meant to make it seem like she is, but there’s just a love of cooking that is palpable,” Steed told the outlet in an interview published on Saturday, March 8.
However, celebrity chef Jameson Stocks was less complementary of the show. “I honestly thought it was terrible. Everything — the music is quite slow, it’s quite lethargic, it’s quite painful to watch. I think she should go back to acting,” he said in an interview with GB News. “She’s quite a good actress. In real life or on screen. People should stick to what they do best.”
With Love, Meghan will return for a second season, which has already been filmed, later this year.
