Meghan Markle’s Longtime Friend Lindsay Roth Leaves Surprise Message for Her in Self Help Book

Meghan Markle’s companionship with her college friend Lindsay Roth has been captured in Roth’s new self-help book.

In the publication titled “Romances & Practicalities: A Love Story (Maybe Yours!) in 250 Questions,” which was launched by Roth on Tuesday, January 28, Markle, who is 43, is specifically mentioned.

“My favorite aspect of our enduring connection is that Meghan Sussex, or Meg, and I, as chosen sisters, still think alike after all these years — regardless of the distance between us,” reads the acknowledgment section, as reported by People. “We are always there for each other, bonded by a profound loyalty and understanding — I could confide in you about anything, and it would be perfectly fine. Your heart is with me (I carry it in my heart).”

Roth’s touching mention in her book came as a surprise to Markle, as Roth disclosed the excerpt to her on the day of the book’s release. “I wanted to keep that as a small surprise for her to discover when the book was published,” Roth explained to People in an article released on Tuesday. “Finding friends who love unconditionally is rare, and I have been fortunate to have a few who I truly consider family. It feels like those words don’t quite encapsulate what I feel.”

As noted by GoodReads.com, the book contains a series of “research-backed” questions covering topics such as finances, parenting, household responsibilities, intimacy, and more, aimed at helping readers define their “wants, needs, and non-negotiables” for fostering healthier relationships.

Roth has remained a steadfast friend to Markle since they met as students at Northwestern University, graduating together in 2003. Roth, who is an author and television producer known for her work on Larry King Now, also appeared in Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries released in 2022, titled Harry & Meghan.

“If she’s in the car with you, she instinctively puts her right arm across your lap at the slightest bump as a gesture of affection to keep you safe,” Roth continued in her post. “If you have a particular aspiration, she will support you in achieving it, and your interests will become her own as she champions you. Should you have the opportunity to meet Meg – and I truly hope many of you do – you will recognize the selfless, generous friend I am incredibly grateful to have by my side.”

Like Prince Harry, who wed Markle in May 2018 and shares two children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, with her, Jordan is also from England, and he and Roth have two children together.
