Teddi Mellencamp is leaning on Kyle Richards following her separation from her husband Edwin Arroyave.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, revealed that she is living part-time with Richards, 55, at her Beverly Hills home as she and Arroyave, 47, split time in their marital home with their kids.
“They know that we are separated, filed for divorce. I’m nesting,” Mellencamp said on the premiere episode of her new podcast, “Diamonds in the Rough,” cohosted by RHOBH’s Erika Jayne, on Thursday, December 5.
“Some places you can just file for divorce … in California, there’s a six-month cooling-off period,” Mellencamp continued. “During that six months, you can do a multitude of things. The way I learned about nesting was one of my good girlfriends, she’s a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”
Jayne, 53, then asked Mellencamp how she and Arroyave split custody of their three children: daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10.
“I can’t explain our exact timing. But both Edwin and I leave when the other one sleeps,” Mellencamp explained. “We can both be there for sporting events … we’re completely happy to be around one another.”

Mellencamp went on to reveal that when she’s not at the house, “I live at Kyle’s.”“I saw you filmed in the glam room … that’s my bedroom now, bitch!” Mellencamp joked to Jayne, describing the upstairs bedroom she is staying in. “It’s so cozy.”
Mellencamp added, “Thankfully, Kyle has let me do that. This is how you know there are real friendships to be made [on reality TV]. I was like, ‘Am I gonna get a place to live?’ I just zip on over, it’s close, easy. She cooks. Sometimes. We’re just starting. We’re newly into it.”
“It does work out well for the kids — we’re right around the corner and everything’s on a calendar. They know exactly when I come and go and vice versa,” she continued.
Mellencamp announced her separation from Arroyave on November 2.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Mellencamp wrote via Instagram. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”
She added, “Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.”
Later in November, Us Weekly reported that Mellencamp allegedly had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, months before separating from Arroyave.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” a source exclusively told Us, noting that Teddi and Edwin were both unfaithful to one another during their marriage.
A second insider claimed that Arroyave spoke with Schroeder’s wife, Karli, who “confirmed the affair.”
Before their split, “Teddi and Edwin had been working on the problems of their marriage, despite his past indiscretions,” the first source said, noting, “They stayed in the marriage for the sake of the kids.”
