The 55-year-old music industry titan is presently undergoing trial in New York on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. (Diddy has entered a plea of not guilty regarding all allegations raised against him.)
Simultaneously in the same city, O’Day stated during the episode of “Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Presents: Aubrey O’Day Covering the Diddy Trial” on Friday, May 16, that she would not be attending the court proceedings, despite previous reports suggesting otherwise.
“I’m not here to testify for the Diddy trial that I am aware of,” O’Day, aged 41, said on the podcast.
While she has no plans to give testimony against Diddy in court, she acknowledged that she had previously met with officials from Homeland Security.
“I was approached by Homeland Security and did have a meeting with them,” she confirmed.
Earlier reports had indicated that O’Day was expected to testify during the trial. Her social media audience also speculated about her potential appearance in court after she posted a video from New York City on her Instagram on Wednesday, May 14.
“Hey New York!!! Where y’all think I should head first?” was her caption for the post, paired with a weighing scale emoji. This emoji, which is often associated with justice, led many followers to assume she might be alluding to a court visit.
In the podcast, she elaborated on her reasoning for sharing her post about being in New York on Instagram.
“I shared on my Instagram about my presence in New York to clarify that I am not here to testify,” she mentioned during the podcast discussion.
Diddy was taken into custody in September 2024 and faced charges of sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit racketeering, and transportation for engagement in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has rejected all accusations made against him.
“We are disheartened by the decision to continue what we deem to be an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” remarked Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, in a statement at that time. “He may have his flaws, but he is not a criminal. Importantly, Mr. Combs has been fully cooperative with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week in preparation for these charges. We ask that you hold your judgments until all the facts are presented. These are the actions of an innocent person who has nothing to conceal, and he is eager to exonerate himself in court.”
Following his arrest, Diddy has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center located in Brooklyn. His requests for bail, which were made four times, have all been denied by Judge Arun Subramanian.
