Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is sharing an update with fans after suffering a head injury on Sunday, December 1.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out / been praying for me. I’m home and feeling better. Means a lot, thank you all🙌🏻,” he tweeted on Sunday.
The hopeful message came hours after Lawrence, 25, took a brutal hit from Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair at EverBank Stadium in Florida. Lawrence remained on the ground for several minutes after the tackle and was later carted off the field. The hit, which saw Lawrence ruled out of the rest of the game with a concussion, sparked a brawl on the field between the Jaguars and Texans.
Al-Shaair, 27, and two Jaguars players — tight end Evan Engram and cornerback Jarrian Jones — were ultimately ejected from the game.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson addressed the “unfortunate” incident on Sunday, noting, “Look, it’s a play that nobody wants to see in our league obviously because you see what happens after the fact and it just escalates. It’s unfortunate, it really is.”
He added, “I’m just glad that Trevor’s going to be fine. He’ll obviously be in the protocol, but it just is an unfortunate play.”

“Thank you for all the texts and prayers,” she wrote on Sunday. “Just taking time to make sure he’s okay and get[s] healthy but we appreciate all the support and love.”
The couple, who tied the knot in April 2021, announced in June that they’re expecting their first baby. Lawrence previously opened up to Us Weekly about his hopes of becoming a father someday.
“I don’t know when that’s gonna be. I think we’re gonna wait a little while,” he exclusively revealed in June 2023. “We’ve really just enjoyed not having the responsibility of having kids [right now].
Lawrence met his now-wife when they were in fifth grade, and the pair began “dating seriously” in high school. Their relationship was “off and on for a while” before Lawrence felt “pretty confident” he found The One.
“It’s fun to have your person with you through all the different stuff that we’ve gone through. It’s been cool. I’ve known her for a long time … [and] we’ve kind of seen the best and the worst in each other and it’s been fun,” he told Us. “It’s been really awesome just to, like, get to know her more and more. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
